We've known for a while that Japan's model-boxer Tomomi Takano (8-1, 5) would be facing Daniela Romina Bermudez (17-3-2, 5) on November 11th in a bout for Bermudez's WBO female Super Flyweight title. All the bout was an "open secret" so to speak it hadn't actually been announced, until this morning.
Today in Tokyo Takano too to a press conference to announce the bout publicly.
Although Takano did seem proud of her achievements so far, including winning an OPBF title, she also seemed to be aware that this was a huge task ahead of her and that she was really stepping up in quality. It was noted, by a member of Takano's team, that Bermudez is a "complete fighter" and that Takano could well suffer a very clear loss, but it seems like the team are wanting to see what she can deliver on the big stage.
Prior to the bout the fighter will take part in a special 4 day training camp in Wakayama with the hope being to help her prepare for the toughest bout of her career so far.
For fans hoping to watch the action it's expected to be aired on the TBS (CS), which means, unfortunately, that options will be very limited for fans outside of Japan, and even those in the country may end up missing the bout. There is hope however that TBS will air it on their free channel on a tape delay basis.
