Between now and the new year there are numerous female world title bouts set to take place. One of those, set for mid October, sees the brilliant Naoko Fujioka (13-1, 6) battle for the WBO female Bantamweight title against Hee Jung Yuh (15-2, 6) whilst another, in November, will see Tomomi Takano (8-1, 5) battle WBO female Super Flyweight champion Daniela Romina Bermudez (17-3-2, 5),
Ahead of both of those bouts the Japanese fighters spent time training together with a recent sparring session between the two, which was said to have been useful for both fighters and real test of Fujioka's control in terms of distance. After all the 40 year old former 2-weight world champion was giving away around 7" in height to the younger, fresh fighter.
Whilst these two bouts are notable and big ones the Japanese also have the chance to see a world title unification bout, between Ayaka Miyao and Momo Koseki, a world title defense by Naoko Shibata and a defense by Kumiko Seeser Ikehara all in the coming months. Female boxing might not be huge but the next few months do look exciting!
