Earlier today our good friend Ian Melodillar informed us that once beaten world ranked Indonesian fighter Tibo Monabesa (20-1-2, 8) would be back in action on March 26th as he takes on former world title challenger Toto Landero (11-4-2, 2), in a bout for the WBC International Light Flyweight title.
The talented Monabesa, one of the most promising fighters in Indonesia, has won 2 in a row since suffering a 2018 loss to Hiroto Kyoguchi. Not only has Monabesa scored a couple of wins since that loss, but has done so against notable opponents, in the form of Wittawas Basapean, aka Samartlek Kokietgym, and Omari Kimweri, with those wins helping to keep him on the verge of a world title fight.
As for Landero he is best known for giving Knockout CP Freshmart fits in 2018, and has also beaten Vic Saludar, doing so in 2017. Although his record doesn't look great he is no push over and only the criminally under-rated and inconsistent Joey Canoy has managed to stop him.
This should be one of the best bouts to take place in Indonesia this year, and is a really interesting match up, not something we can say about many fights from the "emerald of the equator".
