Earlier this week the award winners for the 2016 Champions Carnival were announced.
The MVP award was won by Middleweight Hikaru Nishida (15-7-1, 7) [西田 光], who claimed the JBC & OPBF titles by stopping Akio Shibata.
The skills award was won by Light Flyweight Ken Shiro (7-0, 4) [拳 四朗], who retained his title with an opening round blitz of Atsushi Kakutani.
The fighting spirit award was won by veteran Nihito Arakawa (27-6-1, 16) [荒川 仁人], as he reclaimed the Lightweight with a victory over the much younger Kota Tokunaga.
Their was also an award for "Distinguished Service" which was won by the newly crowned Welterweight champion Toshio Arikawa (13-4, 11) [有川 稔男], who upset Nobuyuki Shindo for the 147lb crown.
