Back in December last year we saw an IBF Super Flyweight world title eliminator being announced between Teiru Kinoshita (25-1-1, 8) [位帝里 木下] and former champion McJoe Arroyo (17-1, 8), with the two men being announced to face each other on January 28th. Sadly today saw that bout being postponed due to issues with the Arroyo team, who have started to garner a reputation for this sort of thing.
The bout was supposed to take place in Puerto Rico this coming weekend but no venue was ever announced for the bout and no under-card was ever announced either. That seems to have lead to today's cancellation of the bout.
In the past Arroyo had pulled out of a bout with Jerwin Ancajas andcomplained about various things, before eventually facing Ancajas last September and putting in a very limp wristed performance whilst giving Ancajas the title. Although perhaps it's unfair to say it does seem like Arroyo's love for the game has waned in recent years and the once touted fighter has now fought just 22 rounds in the last 24 months, fighting with Arthur Villanueva in July 2015 and Ancajas last year.
Although the bout has been "postponed" and not cancelled it is clearly a frustration for Kinoshita who had put in the training and preparation only to recieve such a late cancellation of the original date.
