From what we understand Japanese television station TBS is very unlikely to televise the upcoming WBO Bantamweight title bout between the unbeaten champion Tomoki Kameda (29-0, 18) and mandatory challenger Pungluang Sor Singyu (46-2, 31).
The bout, scheduled for May 10th, is set to take place in Mexico. This has left TBS with timing issues as to whether or not they could possibly find a way to show it live or whether the bout would be ruined by having it on a late delay. It seems likely that, unless they change their mind in the next few weeks, they will have to decline the chance to show the bout.
For Tomoki and his brothers Koki and Daiki this will be a big hit and could even seem like TBS, which has shown pretty much every other world title fight the Kameda brothers have been in, is taking the side of the JBC which are still refusing to give the Kameda brothers a license to fight in Japan. It's of course that lack of a license which has seen Tomoki need to travel for this fight, even though he is in a home away from home.
For those wanting to watch the fight we are expecting both Mexican television and Thai television channels to pick it up though at the moment we've not had any particular channel confirm that they are screening the bout. Although no one has said "we are showing it" Pungluang's promotional team, Onesongchai, have said that a Thai channel WILL be televising it!
