The next few weeks are set to be big ones for Watanabe fighters with many of them competing in major bouts between now and the end of the year. The fighters however will feel boosted not just by the success of each but also by the recent relocation of the gym which appears to have been due to the continued success of the fighters.
To show of the new facility today 3 of Watanabe's fighters all took part in a public training session. The 3 fighters were WBA Super Featherweight champion Takashi Uchiyama (21-0-1, 17), WBA Super Flyweight champion Kohei Kono (30-8, 13) and future world Light Flyweight title challenger Ryoichi Taguchi (20-2-1, 8), who will all be in action on December 31st.
Prior to the trio's title fights we are also very excited to see OPBF and Japanese Middleweight champion Akio Shibata (23-8-1, 9) defending his titles on December 6th. If all goes well for the Watanabe fighters they'll begin 2015 with a trio of world champions, a unified Japanese and OPBF champion, and several notable prospects, contenders and hopefuls. The gym really could be riding a real wave come January 1st 2015.
