This past Monday Korean fans at the Hongcheon-Gun got a boxing treat courtesy of an IBF title triple. Those bouts on Monday saw Takumi Sakae (11-0, 7) claim the IBF Youth Light Flyweight, Takuya Watanabe (23-5-1, 11) retain the IBF Asia Featherweight title and Shingo Eto (15-3-1, 9) claim the IBF Asia Super Featherweight title.
Of those 3 Japanese fighters who finished the night as "champions" 2 are now set to return to Korea to defend their belts on March 1st.
One of those men returning is Takuya Watanabe, who will be fighting for the 4th time in South Korea. Watanabe, best known for his bloody affair with Jae Sung Lee, will be involved in the main event as he defends his title against Bong Joon Suk (8-1-2, 2).
The other fighter is returning is Shingo Eto who will be in action against Sa Ya Lee (6-2, 3), the Korean (KBF) Lightweight champion. Lee will be dropping down 5lbs for the bout against Eto and will be entering on the back of 5 straight wins, including a defense of the KBF title.
Note-The records of the Korean fighters on bocrec.com is wrong as they refuse to recognise Korean bouts sanctioned by the KBF, yet recognise the wins of Sakae, Watanabe and Eto. A true oddity.
