The weigh in for tomorrow's exciting looking WBA Super Featherweight "super" title fight between Takashi Uchiyama (22-0-1, 18) and Jomthong Chuwatana (9-0, 4) took place earlier today.
On the scales Uchiyama was a little under 129½lbs, one of the lowest weights of his career. It seems clear that he's stayed in great shape since his last fight, back in late December, and it's little wonder that he looks in fantastic condition for this fight.
Jomthong came in amazingly light at around 129lbs, suggesting that his hard work to shed weight ahead of this fight has worked fantastically. Like Uchiyama he was in great shape and it seems obvious that his recent activity, especially in Muay Thai, has helped him keep his weight down.
Come tomorrow when the men step in the ring they will both have put weight back on, though we suspect both will be very similar sized in the ring for what appears to be one of the best fights we'll see this year.
