Tomorrow Watanabe will be promoting a triple world title show, with one of those bouts being a WBA Light Flyweight title bout between reigning champion Ryoichi Taguchi (23-2-1, 10) [田口良一] and Venezuelan challenger Juan Jose Landaeta (27-8-1, 21).
At the weigh in both men made weight with relative ease.
On the scales Taguchi was 48.8KG's, around 107.6lbs, and looked great at the weigh in. As for Landaeta he was slightly heavier at 48.9KG's, around 107.8lbs.
For Taguchi the weight was his lightest since he fought since he beat Florante Condes back in July 2014, when he was 106lbs. In that bout Taguchi did struggle to over-come the Filipino puncher, though has since reeled off 3 straights, all in world title bouts.
For Landaeta the weight was his highest for almost 9 years! In fact the last time he weighed in lighter was his second bout with Edwin Diaz, which he won by TKO in 2 rounds, back on July 14th 2007.
