Earlier today it was announce that Thailand's Sukkasem Kietyongyuth (13-4, 8) [สุขเกษม เกียรติยงยุทธ] would be getting his passport out for his fourth successive bout on the road, as he heads to Australia to face off against former IBF Featherweight champion Billy Dib (39-4-0-1, 23), who fights for the first time since his stoppage loss last year to Takashi Miura.
The Thai goes to Australia after recent fights in Tanzania, against Francis Miyeyusho, China, against IK Yang, and the Philippines, against Mark Magsayo. He has lost his last two bouts but did stop Miyeyusho inside a round.
For Dib the fight is, understandably, going to be an emotional one with his wife passing away last September, and this being his ring return since her death. The popular Aussie is expected to get a very warm introduction from the crowd. Despite the emotion it's likely that Dib will over-come the Thai in what will be a his first bout in Australia since December 2014.
The bout will take place on February 26th in Sydney.
Incidentally, Dib was pencilled in to fight on the recent David Haye Vs Mark DeMori card but was forced out of that one with a hand injury.
