Tomorrow fans in Hyogo will get the chance to see OPBF Super Bantamweight champion Shun Kubo (9-0, 7) [久保 隼] defending his belt against Filipino opponent Benjie Suganob (10-4-1, 5). Today both Kubo and Suganob weighed in for the bout.
On the scales Kubo was the heavier man weighing in at 122lbs, the divisional limit. It was the second successive bout where he has made that weight and he looked good at the weigh in.
Suganob, who also looked remarkably relaxed at the weigh in, came in at 121¼lbs. The weight appears to be his second lowest, narrowly above a 121lb weigh in earlier in his career.
At the weigh both men were seen smiling and seemed happy to be around each other. By tomorrow however the two will be looking to beat each other up and move towards a possible world title bout later in the year.
