Earlier this weekend it was revealed that popular Japanese puncher Shuhei Tsuchiya (18-4, 15) would return to the ring in December for his first meaningful bout since last November's loss to Ricky Sismundo. The heavy handed Kadoebi fighter will be up against the in form Kazuki Matsuyama (12-5, 6), who has won his last 6 bouts ti climb into the Japanese Light Welterweight rankings.
The bout, which was announced Yesterday, will take place will take place on December 8th at the Korakuen Hall and is scheduled for 8 at 140lbs. The winner, although not guaranteed a shot, will likely move to being considered one of the top contenders for the national title and could be lined up for a shot at the winner of the, yet to be announced, bout between Hiroki Okada and Masanobu Nakazawa.
Whilst the main event is an intriguing match up so to is the chief support bout which will see Japanese ranked fighters colliding in a brilliantly matched contest between Cristiano Aoqui (10-3-2, 6) and Valentine Hosokawa (19-4-3, 9). In many ways the support bout will be the more interesting match up, though both are fantastic Japanese level bouts.
The card these are both on will Dangan 147, and we're expecting at least one other bout of note to feature on the show which really does look like a card well worth the ticket price, as many Dangan shows do.
