Earlier today we confirmed that Japanese Super Flyweight champion Sho Ishida (17-0, 9) would be in action on New Year's Eve as part of the Ioka card at the Body Maker Colosseum. At the time we weren't aware of his opponent just that he would be making the first defense of the national title that he won back in August when he out pointed Yohei Tobe, now however we know that Ishida will be defending his belt against Masao Morisaki (9-3-1, 5).
The unbeaten Ishida is viewed as one of the most promising young fighters in the Ioka gym and will be sharing the card with stablemates Kazuto Ioka (15-1, 9), who will be fighting against Venezuelan Jean Piero Perez (20-7-1, 14), a very disappointing opponent for Ioka, and Ryo Miyazaki (21-1-3, 12), who is facing a yet to be named opponent.
General feedback from Japan appears to be negative towards the show however it is promising to see Ishida defending his belt and hopefully he'll be moving up through the levels in 2015 with either an OPBF title bout or a move towards a world title.
