Earlier this month several million Japanese fans saw WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (25-0-2, 17) [山中慎介] record the 10th defense of his world title, as he out pointed Liborio Solis (23-4-1, 10) in a memorable encounter.
Earlier this week he returned to the gym, just a few weeks after that clash with Solis.
Between the fight and his return to the gym Yamanaka has apparently been spending time with his family and, from what we understand, savouring some delicacies that can't be enjoyed in the build up to a fight.
Part of his preparation for his next bout will see him reviewing the previous contest whilst he will also try and broaden his overall boxing ability.
At the moment their is no set date or opponent for Yamanaka's next bout, though it seems likely to come in either late Summer or early Autumn, and we have seen the name of IBF champion Lee Haskins linked to Yamanaka, however that bout does look to be a long way from being signed and sealed.
