On March 1st Teiken sent two of their world champions off to Okinawa to participate in a training camp ahead of title defenses in Spring.
One of those fighters is unbeaten WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanka (22-0-2, 16), who is preparing to defend his title, in April, against unbeaten Argentinian challenger Diego Ricardo Santillan (23-0, 15) whilst the other champion is WBC Super Featherweight title holder Takashi Miura (28-2-2, 21), who is seeking an opponent ahead of his 4th title defence.
The training part of the camp began yesterday with the two champions doing a difficult and testing cross country course. It's expected that both will continue in Okinawa for day or two before returning to Tokyo where full gym work will begin for Yamanaka whilst Miura continues to move towards selecting an opponent and date for his next bout.
