On June 10th Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall will have the chance to see an IBF Super Bantamweight world title eliminator between local favourite Shingo Wake (18-4-2, 11) and experienced Thai visitor Mike Tawatchai (35-7-1, 21).
Notably the fans in the venue won't be the only ones getting the chance to see the bout with Thai fans being able to watch the contest on MONO 29, with the fight to air at 18:30 Bangkok time.
MONO 29 might not be one of the big and well established channels, such as Channel 7, but it is a channel with growing conenctions to boxing due to a very strong relationship with Thai promotional outfit Kiatkreerin who appear set to have almost all of their big name fighters being shown on the channel.
In April it was the same channel that aired the Thai coverage of the IBF Minimumweight title fight between Katsunari Takayama and Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr, with Fahlan being a Kiatkreerin fighter, and in late June the channel will also carry the IBF Flyweight title fight between Amnat Ruenroeng and Johnriel Casimero.
By the looks of things Kiatkreerin have done amazingly to link up with the channel and to also have a growing relationship with the IBF. It's fair to say if these relationships continue then the Thai promoter will almost certainly see their fighters getting more big opportunities in the near future.
