Former OPBF and Japanese Minimumweight champion Ryuji Hara (18-1, 10) has been inactive since he lost his OPBF title, late last year, to fast rising teenage sensation Kosei Tanaka (4-0, 2). Despite that loss the hope is that Hara will become a future world champion somewhere down the line and that it was just a case of coming up against a very special talent.
Early this month Hara returned to training at the Ohashi gym as he begins preparation for him return to the ring.
At the moment no date has been set for Hara's return though there is a suspicion that he may be featured on the under-card of Naoya Inoue's (8-0, 7) next bout which is expected in May or April. We would suspect that if he is featured on that card he will either be taking on a very light foe, possibly a Thai journeyman, or an OPBF ranked fighter as he looks to move towards reclaiming his old title.
