Ryota Murata begins sparring for May 1st clash with Douglas Damiao Ataide, and shares ring with former foe
Earlier today in Japan the press had a chance to get comments from Ryota Murata (6-0, 4) who took the opportunity to talk about his upcoming bout and spend time sparring in front of photographers and other select members of the press.
The bout in question will see Murata take on WBO world ranked Brazilian Douglas Damiao Ataide (13-1-1, 6), a relatively unknown fighter but one who appears to look pretty good in the footage that's available of, on May 1st.
As part of his preparation for the bout Murata has began sparring with former foe Adrian Luna Flores (17-3-1, 11), who took Murata 10 rounds last May in what was Murata's first distance fight.
This is the second time Murata has worked with Luna Flores in terms of sparring, with the Mexican also used ahead of Murata's bout against Jessie Nicklow at the end of last year.
On paper this bout promises to be the toughest so far for the Japanese fighter however a win will move him much closer to a world title fight later in the year, something he appears to be aiming for.
