At the moment female boxing in Japan seems to be on the rise with a lot of attention being given to two particular female fighters. One of those is current OPBF female Super Bantamweight champion Tomomi Takano whilst the other is the limited but popular Light Flyweight Riyako Goshi (3-3).
Over the past day Goshi took part in a press conference, to help bring attention to her upcoming bout with the WBC #16 ranked Atomweight fighter Chie Higano (3-3). At that press conference Goshi did mention that a a fight with Takano would probably be a stretch too far for her, given that the fighters are several weights apart. Despite that the 33 year old fighter did mention that, some day, she would like to fight for the OPBF title.
Although not the most skilled fighter out there Goshi has proven a hit with the fans and media due to her good looks, her willingness to show some flesh and her personality. In the ring however she has been trying to improve and has started that she's been working on her straight left hand ahead of her bout with Higano. She may well need an improved performance to over-come her ranked foe here.
