Earlier today it was announced that highly ranked Japanese Featherweight Rikiya Fukuhara (29-7-1, 21) will be returning to the ring on October 24th at the upcoming Watanabe Gym show.
Fukuhara was meant to fight for the Japanese Featherweight title earlier this year though an injury forced him out of a meeting with former world title challenger Satoshi Hosono. He's now down to fight in what is effectively a warm up bout against a Thai visitor for what will, hopefully, be a rescheduled bout with Hosono who will have realised that his hopes for a world title bout by the end of the year are gone.
In the co-main event on this show Hayato Kimura (21-7, 15) will be taking on Kanae Onogi (6-6-1, 3). For Kimura this is his first bout since his loss to Filipino Michael Dasmarinas whilst Onogi will be looking for his first win in over 2 years.
A third notable bout on this show will see Ryuichi Funai (21-6, 14) battle against Toshikuni Wake (8-13-3, 2). Funai, a former OPBF title challenger, has won his last 4 bouts though all of them have been at a very low level. Wake on the other hand has proven to be very limited thus far in his career.
