An interesting bit of new from Thailand that we received earlier suggests that unbeaten Thai Bantamweight Petch Sor Chitpattana (28-0, 18) is eyeing up a future bout with WBC world champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (22-0-2, 16). Of course by the future we are talking quite a bit down the line.
Petch, currently ranked #7 by the WBC, isn't a big name though is a fairly popular fighter in Thailand and has managed to both card a good looking record and a great relationship with the WBC who have ranked him less on competition and more on affiliation and his record.
Aged just 21 Petch is a boxing baby though has been a professional for close to 4 years. He has been paying sanctioning fees to the WBC for much of that time as he has collected various WBC titles.
The first of those was the WBC Youth Flyweight title which Petch won back in August 2011 though he has since claimed WBC youth titles at both Super Flyweight and Bantamweight. In total he has been in 13 titles bouts in just 28 career contest and he'll be back in the ring tomorrow hoping to notch his 14th win in a WBC title bout as he defends his youth title against Hou Tingling (0-1), that bout will be his next step towards a world title bout.
