Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao (59-6-2, 38) was in Japan this past week as part of a press conference to announce a new gym in the Japanese capital of Tokyo, the "Pacquiao Gym", which takes it's name from the Filipino star.
The gym, which will open next spring, will be run by the folks at MP Promotions with Mr Yoshihiro Agata being the director of the gym.
Although Pacquiao has nothing to do with the day-to-day running of the gym it does seem like he will be visiting it in the future with the fighter essentially saying as much at the press conference.
Whilat Pacquiao was the guest of honour at the press event he wasn't the only notable fighter in attendence as number of other fighters also attended, including current WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (11-0, 9) [井上 尚弥], and it seems like the gym will have some sort of connection with the Ohashi gym, possibly with the two working together in the future.
