Earlier today in Japan the public and media had a chance to see Argentinian veteran Omar Andres Narvaez (43-1-2, 23) take part in his public training session ahead of his WBO Super Flyweight world title defence against Naoya Inoue (7-0, 6). Sadly for those who turned up to see Narvaez's training session. it was some what limited with the long serving world champion doing just 2 minutes of shadow boxing.
Although the actual training session was short Narvaez did spend a lot of time with the media and seemed to suggest that he wasn't impressed by Nonito Donaire, the only man to have beaten him as a professional. Donaire had given Inoue advice a few weeks ago on what Narvaez was like as a fighter though the Argentinian seemed to hint that Donaire only won due to the size difference between the two.
Whilst Narvaez didn't see willing to show much of himself in the ring he did appear very confident it's clear he's not traveled around the world to just pick up a pay day. In fact if anything the Argentinian has traveled with the intention of over-coming the fast rising Japanese youngster.
