We have been informed that the officials for the upcoming IBF Flyweight title fight between defending champion Amnat Ruenroeng (13-0, 5) and mandatory challenger McWilliams Arroyo (15-1, 13) have been named.
From what we've been told the referee will be American veteran Pat Russell. Russell was recently the third man in the ring for Kell Brook's victory over Shawn Porter he was also the referee for Lucas Martin Matthysse's thrilling contest with John Molina. Interestingly he has never refereed a bout involving either of these men.
The three judges have been named as officials that we're not very familiar with.
One of them is the very busy Ben Keilty. Keilty is an Australian judge who really is active though though has mostly solely in Australia. His experience at the world level is limited, though he was ringside for Billy Dib's IBF Featherweight title defence against Alberto Servidei, unfortunately that bout ended inside a round.
Another of the judges is another Australian, Ignatius Missailidis. Missailidis has more notable experience than Keilty and has worked international fights in the past. They have included the not just the fight between Dib and Servidei but also Vic Darchinyan's against Mzukisi Sikali, the second bout between Robbie Peden and Nate Campbell and more recently the bout between John Riel Casimero and Felipe Salguero. He was also one of the judges for the fight between Kohei Oba and Randy Caballero.
The third judge will be Filipino born American based judge Jonathan Davis. Davis was one of the judges for the bout between Leo Santa Cruz and Alberto Guevara, he was also a judge for the bout between Brian Viloria and Hernan Marquez and for the bout between Nonito Donaire and Jeffrey Mathebula.
