Earlier today in Osaka Japanese fans had a pair of OPBF title fights, one of which was an OPBF female title fight. That fight saw Terumi Nuki (9-1, 6) [ぬき てるみ] claim the previously vacant OPBF female Super Flyweight title as she scored a 3rd round TKO win against Thai visitor Nongbua Lookpraiaree (10-14-1, 2).
The fight saw the Thai come out aggressively but she was dropped inside the opening round from a body shot. The Thai showed her toughness by getting up but was fortuante to see ou the bell and make her way to the end of the opening round.
The success of seeing out the opening round wasn't really a good thing for Nongbua who failed to really mount much of a sustained fight back through round 2 before being stopped in round with Nuki simply being too much, in every way, for the visitor.
With the win Nuki claims the OPBF title at her second shot, having lost a split decision to Tamao Ozawa in April 2015 though in some ways the win said more about the visitor, who has fought at Atomweight before. Although Nuki was the naturally bigger fighter it does need to be noted that this was only the second time the Thai has been stopped as a professional.
