One of the buggest fights this weekend in Japan will see WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (12-0, 10) [井上 尚弥] defending his title against American based Ricardo Rodriguez (16-3, 5), in what will be Inoue's 5th defense of the belt.
Earlier today both of the fighters went through their physical examinations and both fighters passed their medical with no abnormalities.
At the physical both men had their physical measurements taken and they showed that Inoue was the naturally bigger man. He was 3cm taller than the Mexican, at 163.5cm to Rodriguez' 160.5cm, and he was all longer, boasting a reach of 171cm, a full 5cm longer than Rodriguez at 166cm. The two men had identical neck measurements of 35cm,which Rodriguez had a slightly thicker chest, at 92cm compared to Inoue's 90cm.
Interestingly Rodriguez had an unusually high pulse rate, of 102 beats per minute. That saw Inoue's promoter suggest that Rodriguez may not have been in great shape, though could also have suggested some fear of being around Inoue and of reality sinking in for the challenger, ahead of a bout with The Monster.
The Monster looks to devour Rodriguez!
