On December 29th we see Japanese star Naoya Inoue (8-0, 7) return to the ring for the first time since he claimed the WBO Super Flyweight title, last December. The heavy handed "Monster" returns to defend his title against Filipino puncher Warlito Parrenas (24-6-1, 21).
In preparation for the bout Inoue has been training hard and recently revealed that he has been sparring with former Japanese and OPBF Super Bantamweight champion Yukinori Oguni (15-1-1, 4).
The details of the spar haven't really been released but the fact that Inoue is sparring with naturally bigger fighters, as he has done in the past, would suggest that his is back to being the hard hitting crisp fighter that broke through to becoming a star last year. He will however need to hope that he can still pull the trigger when he returns to the ring in what is a must win fight against Parrenas for the youngster.
