The growth of female boxing in Japan has been genuinely brilliant in recent years and this weekend NHK will highlight the hopes of 3 more promising young female fighters who are said to be focussing on the Olympics.
The most promising of the trio is the 17 year old Satoko Nakata who made her name on the international stage back in 2011 when she won a Bronze medal at the Women's Junior Championships in Turkey. Tipped a potential medal prospect for the 2016 Olympics in Rio Satoko really does have so much potential that there is little wonder NHK will be featuring her.
Satoko's older sister is 2 years older than herself and is being tipped another one to watch at the up coming Olympics. Although we're not 100% certain on here name, which we believe is Hanawa, she has won various awards through school and impressed numerous fight fans who have suggest that she could be a potential world champion in the professional ranks.
The third sister is significantly younger at just 11 years old, but in the wake of what her sisters are doing it's understandable that she is being brought up in the sport and will already by more advanced than many older children just due to being around her sisters and in the ring at such a tender age.
The feature on NHK will be at 8PM Tokyo time on Saturday afternoon. Full details of the show are available here on the NHK website.
