Recently we had the pleasure of interviewing Korean promoter Andy Kim, one of the real shining lights in Korean Boxing right now. During that interview he revealed the plan for his Pakistani hopeful Muhammad Waseem (2-0, 2).
Kim revealed that "Waseem is set to fight on the 4/16 in London, England against an Indian fighter". Although he didn't name the Indian fighter it is interview it does seem that the plan is set in stone in what will be a very intriguing bout with a very multi-cultural feel.
Waseem, who is one of a number of Korean based inter-national fighters to work with Kim, has already fought away from his adopted homeland having fought in Thailand last year and is unlikely to be intimidated by fighting in England given his vast amateur experience. In fact this sees him return to the UK where he claimed a Commonwealth games silver medal in 2014, in Glasgow.
Hopefully more details, including the name of his opponent, will be announced shortly, but for now it's great to know what the plans are for Waseem who is set to go to the Mayweather Boxing Club this week for some training with Jeff Mayweather, before returning to Japan to train with Dong Shik Hong.
For those interested in the interview it's available in full here.
