Later today we get an excellent WBC Super Featherweight final eliminator between former world champion Takashi Miura (30-3-2, 23) [三浦 隆司] and the highly experienced Miguel Roman (56-11, 43). Last night, ahead of that bout, the two men took part in their weigh in, and both men made the 130lb limit for the bout.
On the scales the taller Miura was the heavier man, coming in around 129.8lbs for the bout, whilst the shorter Roman was just over 129.2lbs.
Although both men made weight, and looked good at the weigh in, it did look like they were in different divisions with Miura having a notable height advantage over the Mexican, with the advantage seeming more than the speculated 1½" difference.
For Miura the bout will be his second bout in the US, with his first being a loss to Francisco Vargas in 2015, whilst Roman will be having his 13th fight on American soil, giving the Mexican a clear advantage coming in to this bout.
For those interested in glove choices, Roman will wear Reyes and Miura will wear Everlast.
