Earlier today fight fans in Tokyo saw former Japanese amateur stand out Ayako Minowa (1-0, 1) [箕輪 綾子], fighting under the ring name Chaoz Minowa [チャオズ箕輪], record a win on her debut and begin her rise as Japan's new Golden girl of the ring.
The former multi-time amateur national champion made her debut in a 6 rounder against Thai visitor Petchpaya Mor Krungthepthonburi (0-3) and recorded a 3rd round KO win over the Thai, who was never able to get into the bout. From the off Minowa's jab controlled the tempo before she started bringing in heavier artillery in round 2 before stopping the Thai in round 9 with a vicious left handed attack.
Whilst the win was no surprise Minowa's post fight comment did raise some eye brows. The former stand out claimed she was wanting to become a 9-weight world champion, winning titles from Atomweight, which is 102lbs, all the way up to Lightweight, at 135lbs. If she manages that then she would almost certainly become one of the most decorated female fighters in history.
