Tomorrow Japanese fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see fast rising female hopeful Chaoz Minowa (2-0, 2) [チャオズ箕輪] battle Filipino Carleans Rivas (5-3-3) in a bout for the OPBF female Flyweight title, with the bout being Minowa's first professional title fight.
Today the two women weighed in for the bout with both making the 112lb limit.
On the scales Minowa was dead on the divisional limit of 112lbs and looked in great shape for the bout. The weight is her equal highest so far, level with her debut, and although she looked great at the weigh in it did seem liek she could easily cut 4lbs to make 108lbs in the future, if a world title bout was offered at Light Flyweight.
Rivas on the other hand was well under the limit at 110½lbs for the contest. As with Minowa she too looked in good shape, and seemed confident of scoring a career defining victtory, though it is clear that this is going to be one of, if not the, toughest bout of her career against a former amateur stand out who is tipped to be one of the biggest things in female boxing over the coming years.
