Later today fight fans will be able to see a WBC Light Flyweight title fight as champion Ganigan Lopez (27-6, 17) defends his belt against Filipino challenger Jonathan Taconing (22-2-1, 18), in a potential FOTY contender.
Yesterday, ahead of the bout, both men took part in the weigh for the bout and both comfortably made weight.
On the scales the champion was 107.6lbs, easily under the limit. The weight was slightly higher than last time out, when he was 107lbs to face Yu Kimura in his title win, but very similar to the weight he was a year ago when he gave former champion Pedro Guevara absolute fits.
Taconing on the other hand was 107.25lbs, the lightest he's been since he was controversially beaten by Kompayak Porpramook more than 4 years ago, when Taconing weighed in at 107lbs. Interestingly the weight is the second lowest of his career.
Although both came in relatively light both looked in great condition and we're expecting a very special fight tonight.
