Over this past weekend we have seen a number of reports informing us that Venezuelan fighter Liborio Solis (23-3-1, 10) has received some Japanese based support ahead of this week's bout against WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (24-0-2, 17) [山中慎介].
The visitor, who is fighting in Japan for the third time, was said to have received a lot of support by Japanese based Venezuelan Juan Jose Landaeta (27-8-1, 21). Landatea, who is based in Toyama at the moment, has fought 5 times in Japan, and although he has a 1-4 record in the country he has recent based himself there where he has began to make moves towards another potential world title fight.
Although Landaeta is based in Japan it's clear that his loyalties are to his countryman and that he will have helped Solis for the bout. Despite this we suspect that Landaeta will again be supported when he returns to the ring for his next bout, which is likely to come in Japan in the coming months.
