This coming Saturday fight fans around the world will get the chance to see WBO Light Flyweight world champion Kosei Tanaka (8-0, 5) [田中恒成] defending his title against heavy handed challenger Angel Acosta (16-0, 16). Today the two men under-went their physical for the bout, with both men passing the medical tests with no issues.
Whilst both passed the tests the medical served a second function, taking measurements of the two fighters.
The measurements showed that whilst both men were similarly sized, their was a clear but small size advantage for Tanaka. He's 1.2cm taller than the challenger and has a 0.3cm reach advantage. They very smaill advantages, but given his style is speed based he'll be looking to make the most of those marginal advantages to keep Acosta at range.
Interestingly both men showed real respect to each other and it's clear that they have got some sort of a friendly rivalry here, something that likely comes from Tanaka travellign to watch Acosta fight in his world title eliminator earlier in the year.
