Former WBA interim Flyweight champion Koki Eto (14-3-1, 10) has seen a change of opponent ahead of his OPBF Flyweight title fight on June 17th.
Originally Eto was scheduled to fight against the once beaten Cris Paulino (13-1, 3), instead Paulino has been replaced, just weeks from fight night, by his Filipino compatriot Ardin Diale (23-8-3, 10).
Although on paper Diale is a more beatable fighter we actually much prefer this fight to the original one. Diale, whilst he does have losses, has fought at a much higher level than Paulino and has shared the ring with Rodel Mayol, Wanheng Menayothin, John Riel Casimero, Julio Cesar Miranda and Juan Francisco Estrada. More notable however is the fact that Diale actually defeated Paulino last year, scoring an 11th round stoppage over the previously unbeaten man.
For Eto we think Diale makes a more suitable opponent and we expect this to become a full out war for as long as it lasts with both men trading bombs in a real thriller. With Paulino there was a risk of Eto chasing shadows at times, that won't happen here.
Impressively it seems that the poster was changed quicker than we had realised and it currently features Diale and Eto!
For those who are curious we've been informed that the situation regarding Paulino's pull out has been described as "private".
