Tomorrow in Kyoto Japanese fans will get the chance to see two domestic title fights on GAORA and MBS. Ahead of those fights MBS have released some preview shows to try and raise attention of the fighters involved in the bouts, all of whom a direct link to Kyoto.
We've managed to find those previews online and have included the videos below which help look at all 4 of the fighters involved.
For those unaware those fighters are Japanese Bantamweight champion Shohei Omori (14-0, 9), his WOZ boxing stablemate Kota Tokunaga (15-2, 10), who is also the Japanese Lightweight champion, Omori's challenger Hirofumi Mukai (11-3-2, 1) and Tokunaga's challenger Yuhei Suzuki (16-4, 12).
As well as the 4 men involved in the title bouts there is also an appearance from the fantastic Hozumi Hasegawa, who will be doing commentary on the broadcast of the fights, and Ryota Murata, who went to the same high school as Mukai and Omori, as well as Shinsuke Yamanaka, who also went to the same school.
For those unable to under-stand Japanese a lot of the footage in these videos will be useless, but there is some sparring footage, including Omori dropping Michael Dasmarinas, some fight footage, some of Omori's struggles to make weight and you can clearly see the respect between Omori and Hasegawa with Hasegawa seemingly seeing something of himself in Omori and Omori clearly looking up to the former 2-weight world champion.
Note-Although there is some over-lap in the videos they are different with the second video being regarded as round 2 of a Q&A with Hasegawa and Omori and featuring different sparring footage.
