One of our Japanese sources has indicated that the WBA Flyweight title bout between Argentinian champion Juan Carlos Reveco (35-1, 19) and Japanese star Kazuto Ioka (16-1, 10) is to be expected in April.
At the moment no specifics on the fight have emerged as being "confirmed" but the indications are that the bout will be made for April and will take place in Osaka, with the Bodymaker Colosseum being the likely venue. The bout is expected to be one of two, if not 3, title bouts on the show with reports suggesting Sho Ishida (18-0, 10) could be defending his Japanese Super Flyweight title or that Ryo Miyazaki (22-1-3, 13) could be fighting for a Light Flyweight world title. Regarding Miyazaki there is talk linking him towards a WBA title fight with Ryoichi Taguchi (21-2-1, 8).
Although Ioka is eyeing up an opportunity to become a 3-weight world champion he has actually been all over the Japanese papers the last few days for a different reason. That reason is his alleged relationship with singer Nana Tanimura. He has also been on featured in articles talking about his training which has involved spending time with Chunichi Dragons baseball stars Yusuke Matsui and Yohei Oshima.
