Earlier today we reported two bouts set for May 15th. They were the ring return of the really exciting Tsubasa Koura (9-0, 6) [小浦 翼] and that of former world title challenger Shin Ono (19-8-4, 3) [小野 心], with both men set to face Thai foes. What we didn't mention were some of the more headline stealing bouts from that card, of which there are several.
The most interesting of those bouts will see the once beaten Katsunori Nagamine (13-1, 9) [長嶺 克則 battle against the heavy handed Tetsuya Tomioka (5-1, 5) [富岡 哲也]. Coming in to this Nagamine is the #1 ranked JBC Flyweight and will be looking to get a title fight before the year is over but Tomioka is no joke and will make the bout a dangerous one for the well liked Nagamine, who isn't against having a war when he needs to as seen in his 2016 bout with Kenya Yamashita.
In an equally good looking bout we'll see the light hitting Joe Tanooka (13-3-4, 1) [田之岡条] battle with veteran Hajime Nagai (14-8-2, 4) [長井 一]. For Tanooka the bout serves as a "stay busy" of sorts before his August 23rd bout in the Japanese Youth tournament final, but it's certainly a tough bout with Nagai being no push over and having a Japanese ranking coming in to this bout.
