Thailand's Jomthong Chuwatana (8-0, 4) may have been out of boxing for over a year though he looked in fine form earlier today as he retained his OPBF Super Featherweight and took a very clear decision victory over Japan's Koseki Nakama (17-5, 8).
Jomthong, who hadn't fought as a boxer since March 2013, showed a little ring rust early on though was in charge for much of the bout as he quickly got back into the swing of things and ended up being a dominant winner.
Although Nakama, the #4 ranked challenger, was cheered on by the local fans those fans couldn't help him over-come a better, stronger, more skilled fighter. Neither could they sway the judges who had Jomthong winning a lopsided decision with scores of 118-109.
The one positive Nakama could take from the bout was that he scored a knockdown early on, other than that however he had little to celebrate, even though he did see out the distance.
