Tomorrow fight fans in Osaka will have the chance to see OPBF Light Middleweight champion Takayuki Hosokawa (28-10-4, 9) [細川 貴之] defending his title against fellow Japanese fighter Koshinmaru Saito (23-8-1, 13) [斉藤 幸伸丸] in what will be Hosokawa's first defence of the title.
The 31 year old champion, ranked #3 in the world by the IBF, came in on the divisional limit at today's weigh in and looked in good shape ahead of a bout that he will see as a must win contest if he's hoping to ever get a much longed for world title fight. The popular Mutoh gym fighter knows that he cannot afford a slip up and has seemingly got himself into great shape for the bout.
Saito, who comes into this one 0-5 in title bouts thus far in his career, also came in on the divisional limit of 154lbs and also looked like a well trained and confident fighter, in fact he seemed to boast the more impressive set of abs. Despite that the 37 year old challenger will be the under-dog given his history and will know that this might actually turn out to be his final career bout with another loss likely ending any dreams of ever becoming a champion, at at all.
