On March 11th we'll see Hong Kong star Rex Tso (20-0, 12) [曹星如] battle with former 2-time world title challenger Hirofumi Mukai (13-4-3, 3) [向井 寛史]. Today, ahead of that bout, Mukai took part in a public work out.
The work out saw Mukai take part in an exciting spar with Japanese and OPBF ranked fighter Takayuki Okumoto (18-7-2, 8) [奥本 貴之]. The spar between the two men saw Mukai looking fast and controlling the distance well, getting inside with ease and landing good body shots, whilst also landing good shots from distance. Although it was a friendly spar it did get competitive with an all action 4th round between the two men.
Mukai stated that he would be arriving in Hong Kong on March 9th and it seems like he will be fully prepared come fight night. He seems genuinely driven to upset Tso and knows that a win could well see him earn a third world title fight. Saying that however Tso will be the favourite and will be roared on by a partisan crowd at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
