Earlier today we were informed that Japanese teenager Hinata Maruta (1-0) [丸田 陽七太] would be making his second ring outing, as a professional, on March 20th in a Morioka promoted card in Ikeda.
The details for the bout are currently scarce though we know that Maruta will feature in the main event of the card and is targeting a world ranked opponent, for the second successive bout. At the moment however it's unclear on who he will be facing and how many rounds he will be fighting for, however both bits of information are set to be revealed in the coming .
Whilst the details for the upcoming bout are scarce it has been noted that Maruta is targeting a title victory later in the year, so it's fair to assume that he will be looking to move to 8, if not 10, round action for his upcoming bout as he looks to build towards his first professional title bout, and continue the momentum he gained when he beat the then world ranked Jason Canoy.
At the moment details of the show are scarce however we have been told that 2015 Middleweight Rookie of the Year Brandon Lockhart Shane (6-4, 5) will be in action, though Lockheart, like Maruta, hasn't yet had his opponent for the bout show.
For those unaware Maruta is widely regarded as the next big thing in Japanese boxing and his rise through the ranks over the next 24 months could be one of the most exciting climbs in recent years.
