Japanes boxing gym Green-Tsuda held a major press conference on Friday which effectively helped to set the tone for April.
The press conference was to announce a show now set for April 5th at the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka.
As previously reported Etsuko Tada (13-2-2, 3) and Shindo Go (14-3, 9) will both compete on this card though those two female former world champions aren't the headliners, in fact they are unlikely to get too much attention on the card.
One of the fighters who is likely get headlines is Green Tsuda's very own super prospect Kazuki Tanaka (1-0, 1) who takes a huge step up in class to fight Tabei Kaname (10-8-2, 7). Although this is a big step up for the novice professional he is viewed as a potential star and his amateur record of 63-14 (14) suggests he can be fast tracked.
The headline bout will be one of the first OPBF title bouts of the year as Yu Kawaguchi (22-6, 10) battles against fellow Japanese fighter Takahiro Yamamoto (15-3, 12) for the vacant OPBF Bantamweight title, which was vacated earlier this year by Ryosuke Iwasa. For Kawaguchi this is his second title fight and comes just less than a year after his first, a loss against Kentaro Masuda for the Japanese Bantamweight title whilst Yamamoto will be fighting in his first title bout.
As well the announcements regarding the April 5th show the press conference also saw Nobuhiro Ishida (27-10-2, 11) who managed to throw a few verbal jabs at Japanese champion Kyotaro Fujimoto (11-1, 6) ahead of their clash on April 30th..
