On October 3rd Japanese fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see Satoshi Hosono (32-2-1, 21) [細野 悟] face off with Argentina's Jonathan Victor Barros (40-4-1, 22) in an IBF Featherweight title eliminator. Sadly if you're not at the venue you will have to wait to see it, though it will be televised.
For the winner the bout will move them towards a 2017 world title fight with IBF Featherweight champion Lee Selby, and could well give the winner a chance to make a final mark on the world scene, with Barros being a former champion and Hosono having had several title fights.
The bout, which again takes place on October 3rd, will be televised on the following Saturday/Sunday and will be featured on free Tv in Japan..
It'll be aired on Fuji TV at 27:55 on Saturday night,or 3:55 on Sunday morning you prefer that way of thinking about things.
At the moment it's unclear what other bouts will be aired on the telecast, so it may be just the main event, but it's nice to see that Fuji are continuing to get behind Hosono and continue their solid relationship with the Ohashi gym. It's just a shame that the bout is on such a frustrating delay and on at such a peculiar time.
