Yesterday saw a lot of rumours circulate about an Osaka show on New Years Eve. The rumours included a mooted Featherweight clash between Hisashi Amagasa (28-4-2, 19) and Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9) which has seemingly set the boxing world alight with chatter.
Sadly whilst there was a lot of rumour the actual confirmed news for the card was minimal with the only solid news being that Kazuto Ioka (15-1, 9) and Ryo Miyazaki (21-1-3, 12) would be appearing on a show in Osaka at the end of the year and that Ioka wouldn't be in a world title fight.
Today we had another confirmed fighter on the show as model-come-boxer-come weigh-in-legend Tomomi Takano (6-1, 5) announced she would be featuring in an 8 round bout in her second successive New Years Eve card.
The female fighter was at the "Best Styling Award 2014" recently and announced herself for the Osaka show. At the moment no opponent has been announced however she is said to be in talks with world ranked female fighters as she looks to continue her rebuilding process following a TKO loss earlier this year.
Whilst by it's self Takano's announcement isn't a big one it does add further weight to Amagasa appearing on the card as it's very well known that Amagasa and Takano are very close friends and the beauty of Japanese boxing has served as a ring card girl for Amagasa's bouts in the past as well as featuring on shows with him.
