Earlier this week Kiatkreerin confirmed that negotiations were on going for a bout between their fighter Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr (29-4-1, 15) [ศักดิ์กรีรินทร์] and Filipino Milan Melindo (33-2, 12). The two men, who were ordered to fight earlier this year, will be fighting for the IBF Interim title, and a chance to face Akira Yaegashi, likely in December.
From what we under-stand both teams are holding their cards close to their chest to try and get the best offer they can, with both teams clearly wanting home advantage to what is a hugely significantly match for both fighters.
At the moment their doesn't appear to be anything agreed between the two camps, though the allure of an end of year date with Yaegashi may see both teams rush a deal in the hopes of having their man fit and ready for a December bout in Tokyo.
If they can't reach a deal they will need to go to purse bids and there is a genuine chance that they would need to wait until next Spring to get their shot at the regular title.
