Yesterday Shinsei held a press conference to announce one of the main bouts for their December 11th show at the Central Gym in Kobe, Hyogo.
The announcement regarded a female world title fight featuring former title holder Etsuko Tada (14-2-2, 4) who we now know will be facing Mexico's Victoria Argueta (13-2, 4) for the IBF female Minimumweight title.
The talented Japanese fighter, who held the WBA female Minimumweight title from 2009 to 2013, will be hoping to become a world champion for a second time and prove her ability once again. She is however 2-2 in her last 4 bouts with two split decision losses to Anabel Ortiz recently marking up her record.
As for Argueta, this is her first bout since actually losing this very same title to Nancy Franco in February. The Mexican is a former Mexican, WBC Silver and IBF champion and will be familiar to some Japanese fans who may remember her 2012 clash with Naoko Fujioka, a bout that Fujioka won with a wide decision.
For those wonder about Nancy Franco, who was stripped of this title, she will herself be fighting in Japan in December as she faces WBC world champion Yuko Kuroki on December 20th in Fukuoka. Interesting Kuroki has been beaten by Tada and if both Tada and Kuroki win their up coming bouts or if Argueta and Franco win, we may see unification bouts as rematches.
