Tomorrow fight fans in Tokyo get the chance to see Dangan Ladies Vol 2. The show isn't a massive one but it is an interesting one, with the card being fully fielded by female fighters, from the main event right down to the opening bout. In total that's 10 fights and 22 women in action on the card.
Whilst there was attention given to various fighters at today's weight in, including the main event fighters, who are engaging in a rematch for a wold title, and the debuting Chaoz Minowa, arguably the star of the weigh in wasn't a fighter at all.
Instead that star was the owl that accompanied debutant Umi Ishikawa (0-0) [石川 海].
Ishikawa owns an famous cafe in Japan and brought the bird along with her to the weigh in for her bout with a Thai opponent, who looked a little bit unsure of Iwhikawa's feathery friend.
Although the bout is an incredibly low profile one the owl has certain raised the interest in both the bout and the weigh in and numerous sports papers in Japan have featured a photo of Ishikawa with the mean looking bird.
